DDS believes that having an active social life encourages well being. For this reason DDS offers an array of social activities for its adult participants and programs for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Brave Art Studio:
DDS believe that each person is an artist, limited only by the boundaries of his/her imagination. Brave Art is about enjoying the process of creating art together while celebrating the creative abilities of all. The studio is a place where artists of all abilities create together for the purpose of achieving new heights through art & the creative process.
Periodically, Brave Art Studio will exhibit works of art and make items available for sale to the public. Individual artists receive 50% of the sale of each item with the remaining 50% going back into the program for the purchase of supplies and materials. DDS now features an Artist of the Month, in which original works of art will be on display in the lobby at the DDS-Alley Learning Center.
The Studio meets regularly on Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Due to its popularity; DDS has implemented an enrollment program in which artists must register to participate for a six week session. Space is limited to 15 participants. To learn more, or to register for the Brave Art Studio call 717-274-3493.
