Who We Serve - DDS provides training and education services to individuals with developmental delays and disabilities. Our services span a person's lifetime.
DDS serves children of all abilities from infancy to age 21
Through Early Intervention Home Based Program, DDS Serves 88 children each month by providing Special Instruction, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy. Infants and toddlers are referred for services through Lebanon County Mental Health/Mental Retardation and services are provided at no cost to families.
DDS offers a variety of year-round recreational opportunities for school age youth, serving approximately 45 youth each year through the Summer Stars Day Camp, Scouts and recreational activities. These activities are open to the public at a cost for individuals to participate.
Children (continued): The Elks Home Service Nurse is a resource for families caring for children with disabilities. As a home consultant she assists with advocacy and connects families with services to enhance their child’s care; the Elks Home Services Nurse visits approximately 50 children each month. There is no charge for families to utilize the Elks Home Service Nurse.
DDS provides community based training for approximately 50 adults through its competitive employment program and Community Support Services. Adults are referred for services through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and/or Lebanon County Mental Health/Mental Retardation. This is a free service for individuals.
Adults (continued): The Elks Home Service Nurse is a resource for persons with disabilities. As a home consultant she assists with advocacy and connects individuals with services to enhance their quality of life; the Elks Home Services Nurse visits approximately 100 adults each month. There is no charge for individuals to utilize the Elks Home Service Nurse.
DDS offers activities for adults to maintain an active healthy life style. Many of these activities are open to the public, however, space is limited and some restrictions may apply. Approximately 35 adults participate in these activities. There is a nominal fee for participation in most activities.
